FROM DEATH TO LIFE

1. DEATH IS CERTAIN

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.  ⇝ Hebrews 9:27-28

2. DEATH IS ALL OR NOTHING

Does death mean that the show is over, or is it possible that somewhere the real show is just starting?

3. WE CELEBRATE AN EVENT

After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.  And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.  His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.  For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men.  But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid’; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified.  He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said.  Come, see the place where he lay.  ⇝ Matthew 28:8-9

Then Peter stood up, he raised his voice and addressed the crowd and said, ‘God has raised this Jesus to life and we are all witnesses to this fact.’  ⇝ Acts 2:32

The name of Jesus is not so much written as it is plowed into the history of the world.

“Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.”
