When God’s Will Isn’t Clear

I. WHAT IS GOD’S WILL?

  1. IT’S NOT A FEELING
  2. IT’S NOT A FORMULA
  3. GOD’S WILL IS A FRIENDSHIP
Not rules, but a relationship
Not a life map, but a life guide
“God (has) invited you into a wonderful friendship with His Son, Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor. 1:9

II. ATTITUDES THAT LIMIT GOD’S WILL IN YOUR LIFE

  1. DON’T BE FATALISTIC
    1. “What will be, will be”If anyone CHOOSES to do God’s will, he will find out whether My teaching comes from God.” John 7:17
    2. FACT: God’s will involves my freedom to choose
  2. DON’T BE FEARFUL
`I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. `Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future!'” Jer. 29:11
FACT: God’s will is an expression of His love 
3. DON’T BE FRUSTRATED
We know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Rom. 8:28
FACT: God’s will is a long-term process that includes both pleasure & problems
THE RIGHT ATTITUDE: One step at a time
“Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe He exists and rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Heb. 11:6
