CELEBRATION NOTES

“BALCONY PEOPLE”

ALL SAINTS DAY

Part One: Barnabas

Part Two: Esther

Part Three: The Sinful Woman

  1. NO ONE IS ORDINARY

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues, put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:12- 14)

  1. CHEERING PEOPLE ON

When someone serves you, be understanding not demanding.

Philippians 2:4-5 “Don’t just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others too, and in what they are doing. Your attitude should be the same as Jesus Christ’s.”

When somebody disappoints you be gentle and not judgmental.

Romans 14:1 “Accept him who is weak in the faith without passing judgment on disputable matters.”

When someone disagrees with you, be tender without surrender.

Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer quiets anger; but a harsh word stirs it up.”

When somebody hurts you, be an actor not a reactor.

Acts 4:36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas, sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.

  1. BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE CAN CHANGE

Acts 9:28 Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.

  1. SEE THINGS THAT OTHER PEOPLE CAN’T SEE

Acts 15:36-39  “… but Paul did not think it was wise because he had deserted them. They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company, and Barnabas took Mark.”
