I WILL PRAISE YOU IN THIS STORM
The Tragedy Of The Texas Flood
2 Corinthians 4, Paul says in v. 8-9 “We are often troubled but not crushed. Sometimes in doubt but never in despair. There are many enemies but we are never without a friend and though we badly hurt at times we are not destroyed.”
Moral evil…Natural evil
- WHERE IS GOD IN THIS DISASTER? Luke 13, 4-5
- WHY DOES GOD ALLOW NATURAL DISASTERS?
(Colossians 1:16-17). “He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see–kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities. Everything has been created through him and for him. 17He existed before everything else began, and he holds all creation together.”
In much the same way that God allows evil people to commit evil acts, God allows the earth to demonstrate the consequences sin has had on Creation.
Gene What?
Romans 8:19-21 tells us, “The creation waits in eager expectation for the son of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.”
Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
I WILL PRAISE YOU IN THIS STORM
I was sure by now, God You would have reached down
And wiped my tears away, stepped in and saved the day
And Once again…I say Amen, and it’s still rainin’
But as the thunder rolls, I barely hear You whiper through the rain
“I’m With you”
And as Your mercy falls, I’ll raise my hand and praise the God who gives…And takes away
{Chorus}
And I’ll praise You in this storm, And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are, No matter where I am
And every tear I cried, You hold in Your hand
You never left my side, And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when, I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You, and raised me up again
But my strength is almost gone, How carry on
If I can’t find You
But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as your mercy falls, I’ll rais my hands and praise the God who gives…And takes away
{Chorus}
I lift my eyes unto the hills, Where does my help come from
My help comes from the Lord, The maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes unto the hills, Where does my help come from
My help comes from the Lord, The maker of heaven and earth
And I’ll praise You in this storm,
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are,
No matter where I am
And every tear I cry, You hold in my hand
You never left my side, No matter who I am
{Chorus}
