  The Fruit of the Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
Galatians 5:22–23

I. PEACE BEGINS WITH GOD

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

     Romans 5:1

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

II. PEACE REMAINS WHEN TROUBLE COMES

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” Mark 4:39

III. PEACE GROWS WHEN WE TRUST GOD

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.Isaiah 26:3

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your

 requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6–7

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,

whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – think about such things.Philippians 4:8
