Every day presents countless opportunities to pursue success, comfort, recognition, or achievement. Yet Scripture reminds us that above every other pursuit, love should be our greatest aim. Love is not simply one of the fruits of the Spirit—it is the foundation upon which all the others grow.

When love becomes our primary goal, our priorities begin to change. We become more patient with difficult people, more forgiving of those who hurt us, and more willing to serve without expecting anything in return. A Spirit-controlled life is always marked by love.

When we truly understand God’s unconditional love, it changes how we treat others. We become more gracious because we’ve received grace. We become more forgiving because we’ve been forgiven. God’s love becomes the source from which our love flows.
