Week 2: Barbecue & Boundaries: Feeding What Really Matters

Overview

As we journey through the “Summer Soul Care” series, this devotional journal is a wonderful opportunity for us to reflect together on the ways God invites us to nurture and renew our souls in Him.

Each week includes daily Scripture readings, a short reflection, a prayer prompt, and a family activity.

Barbecue & Boundaries: Feeding What Really Matters

Key Scripture: Galatians 6:7–10

Big Idea: What you feed grows. Guard what you allow into your heart and home.

Daily Readings

  • Monday: Galatians 6:7–10
  • Tuesday: Proverbs 4:23
  • Wednesday: Philippians 4:8–9
  • Thursday: 1 Corinthians 10:23–24
  • Friday: Personal reflection and journaling

Reflection Questions

  • What am I feeding my soul with daily?
  • What boundaries do I need to build to protect my peace?

Prayer Prompt

“God, show me where I’ve let junk into my heart. Help me feed on what is good and true.”

Family Activity

Have a family meal. Each person shares one thing that nourishes their soul and one thing that drains it. Pray over those areas together.
