Weekly Devotional – A Charlie Brown Christmas Part Two

🎄 A Charlie Brown Christmas

Monday–Sunday Devotional

MONDAY — Are You Charlie Brown?

Scripture:
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” — John 1:14

Reflection:
Charlie Brown feels overwhelmed, unseen, and unsure. Many of us enter December the same way. But the message of Christmas is simple: God came close. He stepped into our real lives—not the polished version, but the messy one. When life feels confusing, Jesus draws near.

Prompt:
Where do I feel overwhelmed this week, and how can I invite Jesus into it?

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for coming close. Meet me where I feel most like Charlie Brown.

TUESDAY — When Joy Feels Hard to Find

Scripture:
“Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…” — Matthew 6:19–21

Reflection:
Charlie Brown couldn’t find joy because he was surrounded by distractions. Chase what shines, and you’ll miss what saves. Christmas joy is not found in things, but in Christ. When your heart focuses on heaven, your joy returns.

Prompt:
What shiny distractions compete for my attention this week?

Prayer:
Lord, shift my focus from what glitters to what matters.

WEDNESDAY — Are You Snoopy? (Commercialism’s Trap)

Scripture:
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21

Reflection:
Snoopy entered his doghouse in a Christmas decorating contest. He wasn’t trying to celebrate—he was trying to impress. Commercialism promises joy but produces distraction. When we chase the spotlight, our hearts drift from Jesus.

Prompt:
Am I decorating my “life” to impress or to honor God?

Prayer:
God, guard my heart from chasing applause. Help me treasure You above everything else.

THURSDAY — Are You Lucy? (Becoming More Than Buying)

Scripture:
“Do not store up treasures on earth…” — Matthew 6:19

Reflection:
Lucy wants status—leadership, recognition, and control. Her Christmas becomes about becoming important rather than becoming loving. But Christmas isn’t about what you buy or achieve—it’s about who you are becoming in Christ.

Prompt:
Where is God calling me to become more loving, gentle, or patient?

Prayer:
Lord, form my character this season. Make me more like Jesus, not more like Lucy.

FRIDAY — Slow Down Before You Miss What’s Right in Front of You

Scripture:
“The Word became flesh…” — John 1:14

Reflection:
Don’t let the noise of Christmas around you make you miss the Savior right in front of you. Slow down. Look up. God is moving in the small moments—conversations, quiet mornings, simple joys—just like Charlie Brown discovered when the little tree began to shine.

Prompt:
What noise do I need to quiet today in order to notice God’s presence?

Prayer:
Jesus, help me slow down and see You clearly.

SATURDAY — The Gift of Being Still (Family Activity)

Scripture:
“Be still and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Reflection:
Being by water—like a lake—brings calm, clarity, and connection. Studies show it reduces stress, improves sleep, boosts immunity, and enhances mental health. God often speaks when we are still enough to listen.

Family Activity:
Take 5 minutes together outdoors or by a quiet window.
Each person shares:
“What simple thing has helped me feel close to God this season?”

Prompt:
What stillness can I practice today?

Prayer:
Lord, quiet my soul. Bring peace to me and my family.

SUNDAY — Becoming Who God Created You to Be

Scripture:
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21

Reflection:
Christmas shapes who we become. Become attentive, not distracted. Become peaceful, not hurried. Become compassionate, not commercial. The world may chase what shines—but we are called to follow what saves.

Prompt:
Who does Jesus want me to become this Christmas?

Prayer:
Father, shape my heart today. Help me become the person You desire me to be.
